Tadhg qualified in Geology from Trinity College and received his Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Durham in 1982. Having spent several years working on civil engineering projects, he joined the world famous John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood, in Britain. In 1991, he returned to Ireland and established a furniture design practice.

Simon qualified in Furniture Restoration and Design at the College of Marketing and Design. He is also qualified in Art and Architecture which he studied at Trinity College, Dublin. He began his career working at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), New York and has also worked in the furniture departments of both Christie’s and Sotherby’s in England. In 1994, Simon established a furniture design practice in Dublin and in 1996 he and Tadhg established their partnership. Tadhg & Simon are now recognised as being at the forefront of furniture design in Ireland.
